Read this first. Most applicants should self-select out.
This role is only for PMs who have already built and shipped marketplace or matching systems in production. If your background is SaaS, growth experiments, dashboards, or stakeholder coordination, stop here.
Hard requirements. Non-negotiable.
You will be rejected without these.
- Direct experience with matching or recommendation systems
- Examples: labour marketplaces, ride-sharing, delivery, staffing, dating, or allocation engines
- (Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, Flexport, Mercor, Micro1, Ribbon.ai, similar)
- Experience working on multi-sided platforms with real supply and demand constraints
- Bonus if this includes recruiting, staffing, logistics, supply chain, or healthcare
- Proven ability to build for non-technical users in antiquated industries
- If you’ve only shipped for knowledge workers, you are not a fit
- Technical degree (Computer Science or equivalent) from a top-25 university
- This is a strong filter. Candidates without this are frequently rejected.
- Strong technical fluency
- You must be comfortable writing SQL, interrogating data yourself, and reasoning about systems
- Ability to code or prototype and actively use AI tools to test ideas
- Not “AI interested”. Actually using it.
What you’ll do
- Own 0→1 and 1→10 product decisions in a live labour marketplace
- Make build vs kill calls with incomplete data
- Design and ship matching, allocation, and operational systems
- Work directly with founders, engineers, ops teams, and customers
- Be accountable for outcomes that hit revenue, fill rates, and unit economics
Environment
- On-site, 5 days a week in New York
- 60+ hour weeks during high-intensity periods
- Early-stage, high-ambiguity, low hand-holding
Automatic rejections
- “Stakeholder management” or roadmap-only PMs
- Growth PMs who only ran A/B tests
- Anyone optimising for work-life balance
- Candidates without real marketplace or matching-system exposure
Why join
- Backed by Founders Fund, Khosla, General Catalyst
- Founder-led, Series B imminent
- Real leverage in a $550bn labour market
- Your decisions materially affect the business, fast
